Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

How do I find out who owns a house that was lost in bankruptcy, when all the records are not up to date. To me it seems as if its lost in paperwork.

The property records should be updated at the county recorder of deeds. Sometimes they do not update their online records as fast as the hard copies so I suggest you go to the office and ask for the records.

Or you can pay a title company for an ownership search. Since they are supposed to know how to do this and time may be a factor, it's something to consider.
