Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

IL-I have all of my equip. in a commercial business that I am leasing from the owner. I share the space with the owners own business and have not been able to pay him for 2 months rent. I allowed the owner to use much of my office equipment and all of my own bus. equipment is still in the business. My equip. totals approx. $14,000 dollars and I only owe him $600 dollars. He also stated that I would have to pay him an additional $200 dollars which is just a late fee amount that he thought of off the top of his head. He told me that he was going to just keep my equipment for non-payment. He told me in person on last Friday that he was giving me a 5 day notice but I have not received anything in writing. (I have not gone back into the store cause he says he does not want me there, so he could have typed a 5 day and slipped it under the door. Can he keep my equipment? Also, does his verbal 5 day notice merit a real 5 day notice and can he keep my equipment and then say that I abandoned it?
