Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Statue law of limitation of collecting money from tenant
My Mother died two years ago. Leaving me with a tenant in my grandmothers house. I took her to court but I was left with the task by the judge to find a way to get this money. I don't have her Social Security Number I did get her out of the house with a Court Evition. How can I go about getting this information. My new tenants are doing me the same way now but I do have information on them but they won't half the time but they broke their lease and etc. So can I just put them out or do I have to take them to Court also. I have ask them to leave several. Can I just throw them out or sell the house and not tell them I'm selling. The law seems to be always on the side of the one that is doing all the harm. What can I do and how can I go about this? [email protected]

It is apparent to me that a FE&D case is beyond your comprehension. Why don't you make your life easier and hire a lawyer??
Re: Statue law of limitation of collecting money from tenant
There are certain rather technical requirements you must follow in order to get a tenant to vacate a residence, especially if you are located in Chicago. Any failure to follow explicitly the letter of the law in this regard is fatal to getting what you want to accomplish.
As for the former tenant, you will need to obtain a judgment for the amount owed, and can then seek to enforce such judgment.
