Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Illinois
An employee is being sexually harassed by a vendor. I have told vendor to cease this immediately and let employee know I am on her side. We are a small business though and have to deal with this vendor. Any recourse I can take if this behavior effects business as we have standing agreements for equipment with vendor and not a lot of options of who to work with.

The law requires you to maintain a workplace that is free of sexual harassment and to take reasonable remedial steps when you learn of the harassment. The employer's duty does include the situation you describe. I would do more than let the employee know "you are on her side."
