Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Hi, my ex-husband recently Passed and I found out he left me an IRAs, 1 from Fidelity. Fidelity stated my name as beneficiary , but now they are stating he listed "Spouse"? He never remarried. Please advise.

You are not your ex-husband's spouse. Who will inherit his IRAs depends on whether he left a will and whether the IRA agreement with Fidelity provides a way to establish who will inherit the accounts if the IRA accounts lack a beneficiary designation or if a beneficiary designation fails.
