Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Inheritence to me but im not related
i recieved an email from someone in africa stating that someone had passed away and there is a large inheritence heres some of the email he sent me...
BLANK has a ten (10) years time deposit account with my bank made in June 1993 , which has matured and several
official notice despatched to his confidential contact as instructed without response. No other person knows about this account or any thing concerning it except him, and my comprehensive investigation proved that his supposed next of kin died with him in the crash.
I decided to contact you to assist in repatriating the fund before it get confiscatedor declared unserviceable by the bank. I seek your consent to present you as the bona-fide next of kin to the deceased customer so that
the proceeds of the account valued at US$26 million can be paid to you immediately and then you and I will share the money. I have used my official capacity to perfect all the administrative logistic to back up the claim before contacting you.
He also sent me a form that says application for withdrawl of deposit
My main question is is this legal? and should i go for it???

Absolutely you should go for it. Right after you buy some beautiful Florida swamp land from me. But seriously folks, the sad thing about these emails, other than the fact that people periodically fall for them, is that they are now emails. I remember before the days of email, they would snail mail these cockamamy schemes to people. I actually ended up with quite a collection of cool African stamps. Now all I get is a full trash folder in my email program. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Now about that swamp land.....

This email or similar ones are making their rounds on the internet in the hope of snaring the naive and/or greedy. I myself have received several.
Run, as if from a fire.
