Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Irrevocable Trust Relocation to Another State

The income beneficiary and three of the remaindermen beneficiaries want to move an irrevocable trust (created by my grandmother's will) from Illinois (my grandmother's state of residence where the trust was created) to Kentucky. The current trustee is US Bank in Chicago, IL. They want to move the trust to US Bank in Bowling Green, KY. I am the fourth and last remaindermen beneficiary and I do not want it moved. I like how the trust is being managed by the trustee in Chicago, IL. Do I have any say in the move?

Re: Irrevocable Trust Relocation to Another State

It all depends on what the trust document says, but since the trustee is remaining the same, the ultimate decision may be up to the trustee and the income beneficiary.

You might want to voice your concerns to the income beneficiary.

Good luck to you.
