Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

When you have filed clain and you have won the case how are funds paid? Do you get a check and your lawyer is paid with his or her own check or do you get a check and after funds have cleared you pay lawyer?

The check is sent to your lawyer with the lawyer's name as a payee along with your and any other lien holders. The lawyer will get everyone's signature on the check and deposit the check into his client's trust account. Once the check has cleared, he will then pay his fees, costs, the lien holders and then you.
