Are sole proprietors required to carry workmen's compensation insurance in the state of Illinois?

In some cases sole proprietors may "elect" in, but in most cases where you own a business, have employees and are in any of the kinds of businesses REQUIRED to have insurance (Section 3 of the laws), yes.
