can you get pain and suffering in a worker comp. suit

or do you have to do it different.

There is a difference between a Personal Injury case and a Workers' Compensation Case. Pain and suffering is an element of damage in a Personal Injury Case. There is no pain and suffering in a Workers' Compensation Claim. There is, however, compensation for Permanent Injury.
