Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois
workers comp
Ive been off work since November without pay, the reason was because I picked 3 doctors, I had an mri done a month ago and it showed that i had 2 herniated disks. I had to get a I M E done and he said that there were 2 bulging disks. Now they want me to go back to work light duty. But the problem is, I havent had any money, I lost my car, and I lost my place of residency, I have no other means of transportation. My lawyer will not give me a loan because he said, he doesnt know how much the case is worth. An insurance company would not give me the TTD unless I return to work. If you can, could you please give me some advice and can you also give me a ball park figure of how much you think this case is worth. I made $9 per hour. Thank

Re: workers comp
No attorney will ethically give you a loan for living expenses like that. It's simply not possible to determine how much a case MAY be worth without knowing more information. How were you injured? How much are all your medical bills so far? How much more medical care or therapy have your doctors told you you will likely need in the future as a result of your injury? Why are you against going back to work light duty to see if you are able. Is your pain preventing you from doing so? What was the name of the doctor who did the IME?
