Legal Question in Administrative Law in India
Filing a Writ Petition on State Information Commission
I have filed valid RTI Applications to Registrartion Department. The Department did not furnish any information. I filed an Appeal under RTI Act, before the State Information Commission against the Registration Department. The State Information Commission is not hearing the Appeal nor processing my appeal petition. It has been more than 5 months and it continues to be silent. I am a Senior Citizen and also requested them to take up the hearing at the earliest. They ignore the same. Can I approach the Hon'ble High Court for a Writ Direction against the Information Commission?

Yes. Right to information is a fundamental right and its denial is a denial of FR, for which writ can be filed.
