In which case or cercumstances in high court (in India) wittness are to be taken directly before the high court judge except election matter.

In High Courts, usually in original proceedings/suits, witnesses are examined directly. Otherwise court is very powerful to call any evidence at any stage and in any matter. Sarat Chandra.

In those cases which are filed originally in the High Court itself and need recording of evidence. In Delhi High Court, the pecuniary limit for original jurisdiction of High Court is above Rs. 20 lakh.
