Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
We have a pagadi system commercial premises located in Mumbai, We are paying rent to the landlord from my grand father's time since 1935 approximately my grand father expired in 1955 now my father also expired in 2010 the rent receipt is in my grand fathers name. Our family seperation took pace in 1989 with my uncles (My fathers brothers & Sisters) We approched the landlord to transfer the name on the rent receipt and change it to my mothers name after my father expired but the landlord is demanding money, we are not in a position to pay him money due to financial problem can pl. help me and guide me please.

Generally when the transfer is within the family money cannot be sought for tranfers.
