Legal Question in Consumer Law in India
How can I get back my money from reliance?
Hello Sir,
I am from Delhi. I was using internet services from sify at home, but since the last 20 days or so, there was absolutely no connection at all, I had lost patience. The sify people told me that there had some server problem. Just then I read this ad about Reliance Wimax broadband connection.
When I contacted them, two people came and after filling up the forms, and taking the requisite documents, took Rs 600 as the installation fees, after which they had told me that a dish antenna will be fitted on the rooftop.
But it's ages now, there is no sign of them, when i call them, they say that they will be coming in a few minutes, but nobody come.
Now sify is working fine, Initially I had thought that i won't recharge for sify this month, but they had recharged from their server already.
Now I don't want the Reliance connection anymore. All I want is that Rs 600 back.
How to approach them? I have sent them an email regarding that.
What I want to know is, what can be the legal way to go through, if they don't?
Thank You.
Warm regards,

Re: How can I get back my money from reliance?
There are certain agreements which you sign at the time of the subscription. As far my knowledge is concerned the fees is refundable but one more time depands on the agreement.
You may approach to the consumer court and file a complaint. But matter of fact that the procedure might cost you more than Rs. 600/- and its very difficult to redeem the amount.
Try your luck but dont waste time behind this.

Send to Reliance a written notice by courier or regd. post or speed post or UPC that because of inordinate delay, there is deficiency in service and breach of contract from their side, so they should return the money within 15 days or face legal consequences.
If they don't return, file a case in consumer forum.

I dont know what documents you have signed with Reliance. It may happen that there will be a clause saying that initial installation fees is non-refundable.
You can file consumer complaint against Reliance for deficiency in service but it seems very difficult to get the money back.
