Legal Question in Consumer Law in India
I purchased weight loss medicine from Om Sai Ayurved for Rs. 5.500. At the time of purchase they guarantee weight loss of 5-35 kgs otherwise total money back. The duration of their course is 3 months. I didnt got any result after 1.5 month so I called them up and told the things - they said continue till 3 months and if you will not get the result you will surely get your money back. I started taking the medicine from July 10, 2009 and the course ended on Oct. 10, 2009. Instead of loosing I put on 2 kgs. of weight and now they are refusing for money back. I called them up so many times but in vein. Pls. advise what to do?

It was a mistake on your part and cheating on your part. There is no medicine to reduce weight. You have a remedy. File a complaint in the consumer court. Since it is a sort of public cause and I am a medico-legal advocate [Former Professor of medicine converted to law as practising advocate], I will be prepared to help you at very nominal charges. First issue a lawyer notice detailing all the facts and then file litigation. You have a strong case.
I agree with the above opinion.
