Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

My wife is US citizen and reside in NEWJERSEY. However her mom is indian citizen residing in USA as permanent resident. After marriage she came back to USA and never visited her in-laws home( My parental home). I am from PUNJAB and the girl is from KARNATAKA. Can my wife file 498A case against my family members. She has never resided in her matrimonial home. She has never visited her in-laws in india.

On the face of it, in my opinion, she cannot. But, sir, concoction, has no limitation. However in such cases, she may not succeed.

To file a false complaint against your family or you as a matter of fact will not be a problem for your wife to do so in India but you need a good lawyer to guide and advice you in each step.
