it is made to local municipal authority. the laws are strict and its difficult to get persmission.

Who are Tree Officers ?
Tree Officers (one or more) are appointed in urban areas to perform the functions under the The Maharashtra (Urban Areas) Preservation of Trees Act , 1975 (Ammd. 1996)
act. In municipal corporations such officers cannot be below the rank of the Assistant Municipal Commissioner. In municipal areas, the Chief Officer of the municipal council shall be the Tree Officer. Every Tree Officer shall exercise jurisdiction over the whole urban area (or an area that the Tree Authority determines).
