Domestic Violence Act 2005 was passed by parliament on September 13, 2005 and brought into force by Indian GOVT. on October 26,2006.

1)Whether any complaint for in between period i.e. from September 2005 to October 2006 should be considered by Court or it will be Dismissed?

2)Is there any judgement in this regard by Indian Courts?

3) What is the general principle regarding action to be taken by Courts for the in between period of passing of bill and its notification ?

The complaints filed prior to the enforcement of Act but coming for consideration after notification shall be considered in terms of the Act.
