My husband has filed a case against me as per U/S 9 of HMA. [When either the husband or the wife has, without reasonable excuse, withdrawn from the society of the other,]

What should I do? -

It is almost 9 months that I am separated from my husband, after 3 month of marriage. Things went wrong, as he used to drink, shout, abuse, irresponsible towards me n his family.

Had cut his wrist once before me and I have seen many cut marks on his wrist after marriage.

Further details :-

Married on 1st March 2012, as it was arranged marriage i was not that close to the guy. On 11th March he had gone to his friend party and came drunked. He started shouting and said abusive words to me in front of his mom & dad. Again next morning he started shouting over his parents and gone for drinking. This was a whole day process. We went for honeymoon on 19th and same thing was done on 19th & 20th. So, I have to take steps and I came to India alone on 21st and he came on 23rd. I went back to home on 28th with a hope that he will improve himself. But after 8 days i.e, on 4th April again same issue arises. He didn't even go to his office (businessmen) and spent whole day watching TV at home.

If you want him to change his ways and live with him, take the matter to mediation and settle.

If you want to part ways then file divorce, domestic violence and maintainence.

you have 2 options 1) to settle the matter amicably and cohabit with him or 2) to contest the matter and file petition for divorce.
