Dear Sir / Madam,
First and foremost, the Customer's A/c that you erroneously credited does not have any legal right to use the funds and your debiting their A/c the very next day is correct. Please ignore the Customer's request.
Please issue a letter in writing (or send an email) to your Branch Manager copied to the General Manager of your Bank reqretting your mistake and give an assurance that such an error on your part will never recur. An entry to adjust the interest amount accordingly for 1 day also needs to be passed.
1 & 2. An error without any deliberate intention to deceive is worthy of pardon without any reprimand action of termination from service.
