Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

I have a DDA flat registered in my name, of which the deed of conveyance is also regularised but I am yet to take possession of the house. My relative paid for the property due to my inability to do so at the time of allotment. Now I want to take possession of the flat, sell it and pay him back his money with bank interest and some profit. He is not too keen and wants to assert his right on the property because he paid for it. What is the legal angle? All papers are in my name and I do not have any written agreement with my cousin. Please guide me.

You are entitled to retain the flat or sell the same on market value. However, you should settle the account with your relative who had made payments. Try to avoid litigation and instead reach an amicable settlement.
