Repair/Renovation in my Flat in Mumbai -
1. For repair of one of my flats I had deposited security deposit of Rs. 3000/- with the society which is refundable after the renovation is complete. So, after the renovation was completed they deducted Rs. 600 /- from this deposit and adjusted the remaining amount of Rs. 2400/- in my monthly maintenance and they have not provided a receipt for the same. So what can be done in this case? Is this correct way of refunding the amount?
2. Also, I wanted to know to if there was any rule which prohibits me from lower my window. The builder has provided us window which is at some 4 feet from the floor and as per the new trend I want to lower it and make it just say 2 - 2.5 feet from the floor. Can this be done? Is there any rule that disallows this?
Please advise on the above two matters.

1. Consider approaching DDR or Co-op Court.
2. Check with local authority like municipal council or municipal corporation.
