Legal Question in Business Law in Indiana

I've had a question answered and i want to follow up/reply.

I did pay the contractor half prior to his work/first day on job.

We're talking an amount of $500 job.

We've attempted mediation through Thumbtack with is how I contacted with him. He is now asking for money owed for work he performed that he claims was not included in the contact.

I, of course, say this was included. Our contact consisted of, I will install your cabs for $500, or something close to that. Even if, and it was, not agreed upon, we never discussed a separate price. Can he now go back and assert that I owe him money for these items performed but not included? Initially, he days during mediation that these tasks were performed or of kindness, now he wants to charge for them. Thank you. The original answer was extremely helpful.

If the additional items were not discussed or accepted by you or in the original contract, then the contractor can't claim them.
