Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Response to a summons I received

I have been served with papers regarding a lawsuit to collect on a car loan that my ex husband was supposed to have paid off. I cannot prove that he did or did not so I'm stuck paying them. I am unemployed and have been for the last 1 1/2 years due to a back injury. The papers state I should respond ''In the form prescribed by the Indiana Trial Rules of Civil Procedure'' but I can't seem to find a form or rules for how this should be worded. Is there someplace online that the template can be downloaded so I can fill it out and respond. I can't pay much but I can pay maybe 10 dollars a month for the rest of my life if that's what it takes.

Thank you for your time

Re: Response to a summons I received

The rules require a responsive pleading to be filed within 20 or 23 days from service depending on the method of service. Each case is different so there is no "template" for filing an answer. You could file a general denial but my advice would be to get an attorney from legal services or contatc the bar association for a referral to an attorney that takes case at a discount. tehc harge will be minimal.
