Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
Theft
my boyfriend was charged with 2 counts of theft Class D felonies for writing a bad check of 776.00. It was only 1 check I believe and he was not cantacted on this matter at all!A warrent was issue and he went to jail! Is this theft or check despection?

It could be either one, depending on how trhe state charges it, and on other facts not in your email. Your boyfriend's attorney can best answer this one, because he will have the arrest reports, etc.
