Hello

My daughter is turning 19 in feb. and is attending college, our question is can she get the child support directly to help with her education or does her mom still get it, she needs help with books and supplies and isn't getting help so is there something we can do ? thanks Jim, Lisa

Re: Hello

You can file for a modification of child support. If your daughter does not live at home, you can file to emancipate her. You can help your daughter on your own after that.

Re: Hello

Probably not unless your daughter does not live at home during breaks. However, if ther is nto an order that provides for college expenses, you can petition for that, and the court will lower the child support and order both parents to contribute for college expenses, and that would be a more direct manner in which to pay for the college expenses.
