Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
We live in Indiana my brother and his girlfriend have lived with my parents for the past couple years in their basement. They are not married and they had a little girl. She is a year and half now. Recently my brother caught his girlfriend cheating and now one day she said she was going to go spend the day with her sister she took the child and never returned. She signed a paper saying she would return but didn't she didn't take any of their things from my parents. What can my brother do to get his child back. She is way more attached to him and my parents then she is to my brothers girlfriend. My brothers girlfriend never pays any attention to the baby. She lets her sit in soiled diapers because she's sleeping and don't want to be bothered by her. She spends all her time on the internet not paying attention to the baby at all. My mother had to take the iPad away because she wouldn't stay off it and pay attention to the child. My brother has taken more care of her then anything. His girlfriend also has a pain pill problem. She abuses her pain pills taking more then she is supposed to and she don't take them orally she snorts them. My brother is heartbroken because she won't tell him where she's at and won't respond to any of his texts or calls. He fears for the safety of the child.

You sound like you care for your brother very much. Please make him go and sit down with an attorney and talk about his options and what he wants to do. There is too much to advise him of in this forum, much less try to tell you and then expect you to pass it on to him.
