Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
I miss my daughter, how can I get her back?
I am an un-wed father who has played an active role in my 2yr old daughters life. Until recently when I started seeing someone else has the mother ever said anything about custody. The whole time we have been seperated I have had my daughter on the weekends and have voluntarily paid anything asked. The home ienvironment in which my daughters mother has her in is devasting. How may I obtain the right to see my daughter again and possibly remover to a better environment? I only make minimum wage and now the mother is telling her case worker that I that I have never been there for my daughter aand I don't know where to turn or what to do.

Paternity action
You can file a paternity action against your former girlfriend. Then ask for a preliminary hearing so that you can re-establish visitation, this time by court order. This is not something you can do on your own. Also, you can call your local prosecutor's office. Under Indiana law they are allowed to do paternity actions for women for free. I believe it might discrimanatory not to do it for both sexes. Remind them of that, otherwise get a lawyer... this is too much for you to try on your own.
