Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I was given power of attorney for a family friend, the problem is he is a very poor state and he never gave me a copy. He sent me to his house to look for it but I cant find it anywhere. Who else might have a copy, I cant ask his family because I am certain they took it.

There are a number of places- se eif he had an attorney draft it, if so, the attorney should have a copy. His doctor or bank may have a copy. Perhaps he has a safety box somewhere.

If he owned real estate, there may be a record of the power of attorney at the Recorder's office.
