If I have my CD payable on my death to named beneficiary does it have to be in my will?

The best thing is to name a benificiary to the CD, otherwise it will pass in the residue of the estate. Once you are gone, things do get nasty among relatives arguing over estates. Therefore the least ambiguity is the most desired preference.
