Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

Wrongful termination: Pregnancy combined with hostile work environment.

I recently lost my Bar Management position I had held for nearly a month. The reason was stated as'' I supposedly did not get along with the restaurant's staff.'' I have worked in the Hospitality industry nearly 10 years. I've been a student and employee too many of the top Chefs and Restaurant Managers in Indianapolis.

The ostracizing began shortly after I disclosed my pregnancy. I had no problem until that time. It began with suddenly finding porn downloads with such titles as (Teen slut gets messy facial/ Girl loves 11''cock rammed in her ass) brought up by simply using a document icon without password protection on mgmt. computer. I should have copied to a USB drive, but it's illegal to take doc. w/o permission. A few day's later brought a ''manager's counseling'' session. I was told I had left a door unlocked and not completed the nightly paperwork satisfactorily. (I had two days of training- 1 day opening, 2nd day closing.) this was only the second time I had closed. Next, an 8 day straight work week. All other management had their regularly scheduled days off. My day off from this last stretch I was called into work and fired in full view of onlooking staff. I had to go on Wellbutrin due to this place.

Re: Wrongful termination: Pregnancy combined with hostile work environment.

From your description, you may have a claim for pregnancy discrimination (a form of gender discrimination)and sexual harassment/hostile environment depending on the full circumstances of the explicit downloads. You should contact an attorney to fully explore your rights and consider filing a Charge of Discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Oommission or the Indiana Civil Rights Commission.
