Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Indiana
leasing question in Indiana
I have rented the same apartment for eight years. Four years ago my building was bought out and someone else now owns it. Although my lease is up in July, my new landlords insist I sign a new lease in January, stating if I do not agree to the new lease then they will start showing my apartment IMMEDIATELY. Can they insist I sign a new lease before my lease is actually up?

They can insist but you do not need to sign unless you want to sign. Depending on your lease, they can show the place at a reasonable time.
