Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Indiana

eviction of boyfriend

I've owned my house 9 yrs, all bls in my name. He moved in 3 years ago. We are breaking up and I need for him to move out. He refuses and said legally he has 30 days. Is that true? what do I need to do so legally I can get him removed? He has no lease nor any mail delivered here in his name.

Re: eviction of boyfriend

If I am following what you wrote: you want boyfriend out of your house. He is correct that he has 30 days - if he was your tenant. He is not your tenant, he is your boyfriend. The true problem you have is getting him out of the door. You could change the locks while he is gone to work but make sure that you do not keep any of his personal property. If he has otherwise, threatened you or put in fear of physical harm, you can a protective order to have him removed immediately.
