Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Indiana

Wheel Chairs for leaving a hospital

I was taken by ambulance from my home to A hospital because I had a seizure. I don't remember a lot, except that after they ran a lot of tests and didn't find anything, they released me. My daughter helped me up from the ER bed and they said I was free to go. I only had hospital socks on and we just walked out of the room and mydaughter sat me on a bench right inside the exit doors of the ER. She went to get the car and in the meantime I had another seizure. I don't remember it, but when I woke up I had 3 busted teeth, a cut on my lip, and a broken nose. Anyways my question is, Should I have been taken out of the hospital in a wheel chair? I do not remember a time I was ever taken out of a hospital without a wheel chair. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Wheel Chairs for leaving a hospital

I wish I had better news for you.

The question is whether you would have fallen whether you were in a wheel chair or not. Even if the hospital should have had a wheelchair and your injuries could have been prevented, a medical malpractice case is very expensive and your injuries have to be very very extensive. Although your injuries are significant, they are not the kind that a medical malpractice attorney is likely to consider extensive enough to file a malpractice case.
