Legal Question in Personal Injury in Indiana

Husband passed away. Was told I could not see him until after the Autopsy. Description on Autopsy report of body does not match husbands, and specific points missing., ie. piercings, tattoos. rash, etc. Death Cert reads accidental. 2 months later, "authorities" changed cert and have yet to notify me of the change or provide me with any documents. They have, however, notified the insurance company, who will now not pay the life insurance claim. Do I have any recourse? This has been going on for 10 months now.
