Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

I was givin a new living room suit from a co-worker. I rented a trailor for $60 and then drove 137 miles to get it. We called before we got there, and her reply was, 'OK we are waiting for you'. When we got there, to our amazement, noone was there, but the garage door was open, and we later found out there were 3 kids ages 15 down in the house. We knocked called and texted and recieved no answer so we drove back home. When finally getting ahold of her, she says, 'My husband was being mean and said we had to leave to go to his Dads', fine with us but why not wait 5 min and make sure we found the place, and let the kids see us off. Well she paid me back for the trailor and said she would bring the furniture to us to make up for the gas. That seemed fine to us, until another co-worker, asked me how to get ahold of her, cause she was not answering her phone. I asked why and she proceded to tell me that she is buying some furniture (the same furniture promised to me) and needed to get ahold of her. I then told her that she had already promised it to me, now she is mad. What shoud we do? Do we have a lawsuit for the gas money or furniture owed to us or is this a fraud, or are we up the creek without the paddles? Remember she already paid us for the rented trailor!

Do not sue her over the gas money. If you were paying her for the furniture, it would be a different story.
