Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

todays date is march 21 2011.i moved away from the old place march 2010.during that time he had the park up for sale.and told us that we should find a different place to live.i thought it was the smart thing to do anyways.when we left we had a few months left on the lease.but nothing was ever said about that.we owed him a few months because of that.now hes tryin to take me to court a year later.is he allowed to do this?.do i have anything i can do to keep thins from happening.i could only assume he was ok cause we havent heard anything from him for a year?.please help me out here...

i just dont understand how he can come after me a year later.the place we lived in doesnt even stand anymore.it has all been demolished.just a plain old lot now.over a year ago :(..ill be sitting by waiting for responses,

Based on the information provided, he is allowed to seek damages pursuant to the lease terms. He is also required to minimize his damages by trying to relet the premises. If he did not, you may be able to defend against his claim.
