Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Indiana

sexual harassment

a co-worker grabbed my breasts and twisted them. I warned him to not ever touch me like that again and I reported the incident to my HR dept immediately. My company has a ''zero tolerance'' policy for any forms of sexual harassment. It was investigated in only two days...and I was asked what should happen to this co-worker, ( which I found that very odd to ask me ), I told HR I didn't want to see anyone lose their job,,,but I also didnt want someone putting there hands on me. They would not tell me how they were going to handle the situation. I just assumed he would be fired because of the''zero tolerance''. But when I returned to work the next day...the co-worker was reinstated. I was shocked...and went inot a panic attack. When I asked HR why he was back and what had been his discipline...they wouldn't tell me !!!! When I asked them why he was back...they answered me by saying I had said I didn't want to see him lose his job. They made it sound like I had given them permission to bring this person back...I hadn't. I didn't feel it was up to me. I had to leave my work because just seeing this man sent me into a panic. HR assured me that they had taken ''corrective'' actions againiist him...I had to leave work I was so upset...HELP !

Re: sexual harassment

This was sexual assault and battery - not harassment. It's a crime and should be reported to the nearest police agency.

Let the police/sheriff show your ignorant employer how to handle the situation.
