Legal Question in Technology Law in Iowa

computer file recovery

I voulenteered for a role playing game. I developed ''areas'' as they are called. I recently got kicked out of being a developer of these ''areas''. i requested that a copy of the files be sent to me, yet they say they have lost them which is far untrue. they used my words against their argument that they are ''biggots'' and lost the files. I was wondering what legal action i can take to get the files back/removed from their site. thank you

Re: computer file recovery

More facts are needed. If you were an employee, the employer probably owns the rights as a work for hire. If you were an independent contractor, you may own the rights in the absence of some agreement to the contrary. Whether you used harsh words to them is irrelevant to who owns the rights, although it makes settlement difficult. To get the files removed you need a settlement or a Court order. Looks like in view of your verbal antics you would need a Court order, and that costs money.
