Bound over is an often misused and misunderstood term. Bound over means ordered or forced to do something. Most often it is used to describe someone that is bound over (or ordered ) to show up for a trial. It can be used for someone that has been convicted, and is now bound over (ordered) to be incarcerated. The meaning if the term must be evaluated by the context, or stage if the legal process it is used.
Good luck
