Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
What do I do next?
My ex-wife and I have a custody arrangement stating that we both have custody with her having residential custody. The agreement states that either parent can take the children out of state for 90 days, if it is to be longer than that or the other parent decides to move the are to give 30 days notice, at which point the move may be protested by the 'other parent. Mt ex has sent me this notice and says it is just to protect herself incase she has to be gone longer. However, I also want to protect myself and protest before it is too late. I need to know what steps to take to do so. What do I do next?

You tell her that she should know whether she will be out of state longer than 90 days...that's a lengthly time. ..if she still can't commit, file Petition w/court of original jurisdiction requesting clarification of her plans. . .giving notice that you are not consenting to a permanent move out of state, if that is the case. Good luck.
