Legal Question in Employment Law in Kansas

Right to collect negotiated pay

Recently I have relocated to Kansas from Missouri to accept gainful employment as a Computer Programming Instructor in the Wichita area. After negotiating an annual salary with the company I received hourly pay, which is being paid at a lower hourly rate. I inquired about my status as hourly or salary employee and I was told I was both by my HR Manager. Meanwhile I continue to work at the hourly rate, which shorts my annual earnings. I would like to know if this violates any employment laws in Kansas.

Re: Right to collect negotiated pay

Did you sign a contract? Was it a verbal arrangement? Based on the facts you presented, you may have causes of action in breach of contract or quasi-contract. I would need to know more facts.

Thanks for contacting Lawguru. Please let me or the other attorneys know if you have further questions.
