Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kansas

residency laws between Kansas and Missouri

I live in Kansas within a few blocks of Missouri. I want to establish residency in Missouri but do not want to sell my current home. Can I purchase another home in Missouri and use it as my primary residence and keep my house in Kansas? How do I do this?

Thanks

Valorie

Buy the Missouri house and move into it. Have your bills (maybe even the ones for the KS house) and your mail, sent to the Missouri house. Register your vehicles in Missouri and get a Missouri driver's license. If you do these things and spend most nights int eh Missouri home, most entities will view that you have moved your domicile to Missouri.

Good Luck
