Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky
Debt Collection
My brother recently died and left a $10,000 at a hospital. His estate is insolvent. My mother lived with him and managed his bills. She wrote all creditors a letter to cease billing her home and that he was deceased. They sent her a affidavit to sign and notarize stating she was familier with his finacial affairs and that his estate is truly insolvent. I feel the 1st letter was good enough. Is this an attempt to get her on the hook for something?
