Re: leans
Under Kentucky law, if your divorce court has issued an Order for your ex-spouse to pay child support, this is considered a "liquidated judgment," and if any arrears accumulate, you can file a Notice of Judgment Lien in the County courthouse where your ex-spouse resides (if in Kentucky). If your ex lives out of state, you will have to have the arrearage amount reduced to a Judgment, have it certified, and then have the Judgment recorded in your ex-spouse's state of residence.
A Notice of Judgment Lien is a useful tool to prevent your ex from selling any real estate or even borrowing any money from a bank.
