Custody in Kentucky

I am a single expecting father. I would like to know all my rights.I have some doubt that this child is mine, but have been there all the way. The due date is june 30th 2002 and that is right here.I want to protect the child and myself. I would like to know the rights I have in Kentucky, and mabey some advice.I want this to be my child and be in every part of his/her life. But I have to know for sure.

It is unclear as to whether you are requesting blood testing to determine biological paternity, or if you intend to be the father to this child regardless of biological paternity. If the former, you should discuss testing with the mom & make appropriate arrangements after the birth of the child. If the latter,

having your name placed on the birth certificate will be a starting point, but will not be "ironclad" should someone else later claim paternity.

You should also initiate action in the local court system to have a court order declaring you to be the father, and establishing your rights more affirmatively.
