Legal Question in Immigration Law in Kentucky
I do not work and I cannot afford to pay for the answer I require. I am a british citizen and i married a US citizen 2 yrs ago. He has made me promise after promise that he will get me the correct paper work for me to continue residing with him in the US but all the promises have amounted to nothing. He was on unemployment for a year and has just found a job. Within the time he was unemployed he had to file bankrupcy because he was in so much debt with his last marriage. either of us have any assests the way we live is what he makes when working I am scared he tells me he does not want to go to work so in the long run everything he says amounts to nothing. We have lived with his father for a yr and previous to that we lived six months in a truck on the road. This is no fun for me living like this with a man who promises so much and never good to deliver. What can I do I cannot continue to live like this.

Unfortunately, you have to be petitioned and sponsored by your US citizen husband. You can't apply for a Green card by yourself.
Cost of the filing government fees is $1,365 (total filing fees).
Only if a foreign spouse can prove domestic violence and abuse, she can self-petition for a green card/permaennt residency in USA.
