Legal Question in Personal Injury in Kentucky

When do I stop dealing with Insurance co and contact lawyer?

I have been involved in motorcycle accident. On the accident report the other party has admitted fault. What should I expect from her insurance? I am unable to work for indefinite period of time. At what point should I discontinue working with the company and contact a lawyer? How long in Kentucky do I have to decide to involve a lawyer?

usually 2 years from date of accident or date of last voluntary payment by ins. co.

As to what to expect, in broad terms 3x your total losses (including

lost pay, medica; bills even if paid by ins).

Re: When do I stop dealing with Insurance co and contact lawyer?

If you feel that you are being pushed into a quick decision on settlement; if you feel that the money they are offering is too low and they are not willing to negotiate further; if you feel that your injuries/lost wages are more serious or are permanent in nature than first believed. Under all of these circumstances, you should immediately contact an attorney to handle the case. The Statute of Limitations is 2 years from the date of the accident, or 2 years from the date of the last PIP (Personal Injury Protection) payment by your insurance co., but no later than 4 years total. In other words, if you have no PIP payments at all, then the SOL is 2 years. If the last PIP payment occurred today, you'd have 2 years from today to file suit or risk dismissal of the suit if filed later. Best of luck. Call with any issues. 859-491-5800.
