Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Louisiana

New Leaf Associates

I am concerned! I recently signed up with a debt elimination company named New Leaf Associates from Port Richey, FLA. Are these people legitimate? They stopped answering their phones for over two months, and are now back. I paid over 5000 dollars for this service. They claim to be delivering on their promises now, but I have serious doubts. Either they can't do what they said they could do or I have been scammed.

New Leaf claims to be able to have your unsecured debt eliminated then restore your credit. After all is done they claim they will refund your $5000.

Re: New Leaf Associates

What you write, clearly, seems to be too good to be true. In cases such as this, its usually ends up being a scam. I recommend you ask for your $5,000.00 back and dispense with their services. I would also suggest you consult an attorney concerning your financial situation.

Re: New Leaf Associates

From what you have written this sounds like a "debt elimination" scam. Unfortunately, these scams are quite common, especially on the internet. Many of these companies sell you documents that they claim will defeat any collection suit against you, often for thousands of dollars. There is an ongoing investigation by the Louisiana Attorney General's office into these types of scams. My advice would be to seek a refund from the company and report them to the Attorney General.
